David Haase

David HasseDavid did his apprentice in Germany at the Hotel Krone located on the shores of Constance Switzerland. From there he advanced to Zirbelstube restaurant, Stuttgart which was awarded the outstanding 1st star Michelin and 17 points from the influential French restaurant guide Gaul Milla. David specialized as a Poissonnier (seafood) chef and is extremely proud in his achievements in winning these sought after, high profile awards.

David and partner of 22yrs, Konni, have a passion to explore new countries and culinary delights and in 2007 decided to come to New Zealand for a holiday. After visiting Blenheim, they fell in love with our beautiful town and in 2009 they migrated here. Since then David has worked at Gibbs, Wither Hills and Marlborough Vintners restaurants and now we are delighted to have him join us here.  David is an avid gardener and enjoys bringing his love for fresh garden produce and creativity for cooking fine food, together.   Highfield’s harvest of olives, figs, feijoa and pumpkin and David’s selection of herbs, seeds and edible plants are bought together with finesse with David’s skills to create a plate of utter deliciousness.  We look forward to seeing you.
